Accommodations

Experience Sand Hills serenity! The cabins at the Double R Ranch are situated in a secluded, wooded area that lies at the base of the hills near the Home Valley Lake. The accommodations are comfortably furnished and include complete kitchenettes. Everything that you need to cook with is provided. All you bring is the food. All linens are also provided.

Each cabin has air conditioning and television. A gas grill is available for outdoor use.The large cabin sleeps 6 adults comfortably with space for cots or baby bed if needed. The smaller cabin sleeps 4 adults. Both offer the peaceful solitude that you would expect!

The cabins are open year around! Vacationers, sportsmen, family reunion groups, stargazers, honeymooners, writers, artists, or anyone seeking tranquility and relaxation will find a refuge from the fast paced workaday and a quiet home away from home in this Sand Hills haven. Children especially love the wide-open spaces and the freedom to explore in unstructured playtime.

The lawn or deck is a pleasant and relaxing place for reflection after a day of fishing, hiking, riding, or hunting. Your thoughts may be interrupted by the flight of the geese and ducks crossing from one sand hill lake to the other, or you may observe the deer in the grove at dusk. The sunsets over the lake are spectacular.

The many pelicans and shore birds can be observed throughout the day. Eagles and hawks can be seen riding the waves of air currents all day long, or sleeping on a nearby fence post, seemingly oblivious to their surroundings. At dusk the hills are alive with their deepest shades of green and make for great photography and wonderful shadows. The myriad wild flowers will look their best in the early evening, some closing, and some beckoning. At close of day, the howling of the coyotes and the yipping of their babies, may remind you that Mother Nature is on continual watch and that she provides for every creature under the sky.
