and Rates
Experience Sand Hill Serenity! The cabins at the Double
R Guest Ranch LLC are situated in a secluded, wooded area
that lies at the base of the hills near the Home Valley
Lake. All of the cabins are furnished with your comfort
in mind, and include completely furnished kitchenettes
including all utensils, appliances, silverware, pans and
dishes. All you need to bring is the food. All linens
and bedding are furnished too. (Additional Photos of the

Amenities
Air conditioning, electric heating, and all of the units
have satellite television and DVD players. All cabins
have cooking facilities. There is a telephone in one cabin;
and, an accessible gas grill and a picnic area. Horse
shoe pitching and Sand Hill Golf are available for leisure
hours along with croquet, a basketball hoop, puzzles,
and cards. The dog kennel with an enclosed pen is available
for use by your pet. |
Nebraska
a Year Round Vacation Spot
For your enjoyment, the cabins are available year round
so a winter time get-away is possible too. It is a good
place for vacationers; hunters and fisherman; family reunion
groups; small company get-togethers; star gazers; bird
watchers; writers and artists. Children love the wide
open spaces too! There is lodging facilities for 10 adults.
The Double R Guest Ranch LLC is a quiet haven for anyone
seeking tranquility and relaxation, or just a refuge from
the fast-paced, workaday world! You will no doubt find
the ranch is a quiet home away from home in the Nebraska
Sand Hills.
The spacious lawn and picnic area, and the cabin with
the wraparound deck are both pleasant and relaxing areas
for reflection after a day of outdoor activities. Your
thoughts may be interrupted by the flight of honking geese
and ducks over head, flying from one lake to the other,
or you may observe the startling, quiet beauty of the
deer in the yard and in the grove, early dawn and again
at dusk. For the fishermen and the hikers, the sunsets
over the lake are spectacular.
Birds of many species and types
Birders will delight in the sight and sounds of Sand Hill
birds; the Sharp-tail Grouse, Ring-necked Pheasants, Mourning
Doves, and many others. There will be pelicans, swan and
other shore birds observed throughout the day, and you
will hear the incessant screech of the night owls after
dark! Eagles and chicken hawks can be seen riding the
waves of the air currents or sleeping atop a nearby fence

Photography Ops
At dusk the hills are alive with their deepest shades
of green making early evening the best time to get the
beautiful shadows on the hills, and to capture the clouds
in all of their glory. The myriad wild flowers will have
their best colorings at dusk with some closing up and
some just beckoning. At the close of day, the howling
of the coyotes, and the yipping of their little ones,
may remind you that Mother Nature is on continual watch
over every creature under the sky! |

Gift Shop
A
little country Gift Shop is now open by chance or appointment..
The shop features commemorative ranch t-shirts and hats;
western sculptures and glassware; cards and a few other
items as they become available. The shop is in response
to the wishes of the guests for ranch souvenirs, so
be sure to check it out.

Your
hostess is: Pat Bridges
The Bridges previously raised purebred Black Angus bulls
for sale at private treaty, but after moving to the
Double R they raised top-grade Angus cattle. Due to
the accidental death of Jim last year, Pat is no longer
raising cattle. She is leasing the land and maintaining
the guest ranch full time.
The
Double R has become a sportsman’s choice-of-venue,
and a vacationer’s retreat destination. The ranch
is pleased to have guests who come from all over the
United States and from several European countries. The
ranch is 20 miles north of Mullen on Highway 97. Its
