Nebraska Deer Hunting

Sportsmen can enjoy some of the finest deer hunting in the Sand hills at the Double R Guest Ranch. The ranch is located in a vast and sparsely populated part of the Sand hills, teeming with wildlife, and a big variety of species. The Whitetail Deer and Mule Deer abound, and more and more Prong-horn Antelope are being seen. Many trophy deer are taken each deer hunting season according to Kit Hams, the Program Manager of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Big Game Program. He says that,
“The Sand hills Management Unit has the highest percentage of mature, trophy whitetail deer – and it should, it has been managed as a TROPHY UNIT since 1991.”

on-site guests only.

Deer hunters will find that the rugged, high, sandy hills and the heavily-grassed marsh land on this Nebraska ranch add to the challenge of the hunt. Because there is a very high population of deer, the deer hunters are welcomed! The antelope hunts are just returning to this area, so Cherry County may have limited Buck Only antelope hunt permits a year.

All Hunt Fees include the right to hunt in-season waterfowl, upland birds, and small game. Hunters may go fishing on site at the private lake with the required licenses for a 4-day Hunt with no extra charge.

Exclusive hunting rights will be given if a total of 8 hunters are guaranteed with required deposits paid as agreed. Two cabins will be furnished for these 8 hunters (Big Cabin and Lakeside Cabin).

Deer season is set by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission so Opening Day varies from year to year. Rates and Reservations

Hunt Packages
All Hunt packages have a maximum of 4 hunters per cabin. All hunters must sign a Waiver of Liability
prior to hunting. Meals are not included but the cabins have full cooking facilities with all of the
necessary utensils and dishes. Linens and bedding are supplied.

$1875 Total Plus Lodging and Sales Tax

$1,000 down – To be paid before reservation can be confirmed. Balance due is to be paid at check in. Deposits are non-refundable, but if you are unable to fulfill your reservation as planned, the deposit can be used for the next year’s hunt if an open date is available.

Extra nights: $300/night/per person with advance reservations.
Non-hunting guests will be charged at a rate of $50/night/person.

Muzzle Loader and Bow Hunters

$500 Hunt Fee includes up to 3 day/3 nights of hunting

$ 50 Lodging Fee/night/person - Plus Lodging and Sales Tax

Extra days: $150/person (includes hunt fee and lodging fee)

Lodging

There are 3 units available. The larger, newest cabin has a double bed, 2 twin beds, and a foldout futon, a full size couch and a cot. The second unit has 2 twin beds and a fold out futon. The 3rd unit is the Lakeside cabin and it has a double bed, 3 twin beds and a fold out couch. All three units have satellite TV, kitchen, bedroom, living area, appliances, dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, bedding and linens. Each unit has room to relax with comfortable furniture. All cabins have propane BBQ grills. Enjoy your relaxation time by playing cards, games, or just rehashing the day’s activities.
