Love the Sandhills and your nice guest ranch. You’ve
made me feel very welcome. Great potential for excellent
stargazing (when the weather cooperates!) Clear skies!

Thank you Jim & Pat. We enjoyed the stories
you told us Jim. We sure have some fishing boat stories
to tell our family when we get back. Thanks a lot we
will tell all about your place.

Jim
& Pat – Thanks for the conversation &
friendship as well as the use of this lovely cabin and
your ranch land. So peaceful and calming. We have every
intention of returning in the future! Best wishes for
continued good health & happiness! Sincerely,

Great peaceful place!

What a wonderful peaceful place – it’s
nice to be able to come and disconnect from what we
call the real world. The prairie chickens teased us
but never showed up so we could get a peek of them.
The snow fell consistently but was beautifully light.
We are already planning our next visit…..and while
we didn’t specifically go birding, we did see
or hear the following species mostly from the cabin:
Great horned owl, Greater Prairie Chicken, Downy woodpecker,
Flicker (Hybrid Salmon colored), American Crow, American
Robin, American Goldfinch, Dark-eyed Juncos, American
Tree Sparrows.

We really enjoyed the beauty & peace of the
sandhills. We took several hikes & many pictures
of the beautiful scenery. Thank you for the wonderful
hospitality!

Here on the Roth Homestead, morning breaks with
a rosy glow lighting thin streaks of cloud in the east.
Sun rays first strike the tips of wind sheltering Ponderosas.
Swifts dart & dash, the way they greet every sunrise.
Doves fill the air with their continuing coo. White
morning mist swirls between hill crests. An hour later
the sun finally pushes over the hills horizon, peeking
through the branches of century elms somehow spared
the blight. Pat & Jim, thanks for this soft &
memorable sunrise. Your family’s homestead built
with generations of sacrifice & sweat shares it’s
respite with the heart of any visitor who listens to
the sandhills song.

Thank you so much! We had a ball. The cabin is just
super! We ate on the deck, played checkers, had races
on the front lawn and used the “outhouse”
more than necessary (the girls). We had a wonderful
time fishing – 10 catches in all – and 24
pix to prove it! We also loved playing school in District
66!

cabin – so nice & everything you’d need!
For sure we’ll be back. Love’d the peacefulness.
Thanks. P.S. The ice fishing was fun – caught
fish New Years Night & Day! Love to come fishing
here anyway.
